2015 Franchisee Satisfaction Snapshot

Summary 

Franchise Business Review has spent the last 10 years researching franchisee satisfaction and performance throughout North America. To date, it has conducted independent surveys with over 200,000 franchise business operators, across more than 800 different franchise companies, compiling the largest database of franchisee satisfaction research in the world.

In the recent wake of so many conflicting claims regarding whether or not franchisees are satisfied, Franchise Business Review decided to look at its most recent franchisee satisfaction data in order to shed some light on the state of franchisee satisfaction today.

Methodology           

To obtain the information within the Key Franchisee Satisfaction Findings Across Sectors section of this snapshot, Franchise Business Review analyzed the surveys it received from 25,000 franchise owners representing 350 franchise brands over the past 18 months.

To obtain the information within the Key Franchisee Satisfaction Findings Within the Food & Beverage Sector section of this snapshot, Franchise Business Review analyzed the surveys it received from 4,100 franchise owners representing 76 franchise brands within the food & beverage sector over the past 18 months.

 

Key Franchisee Satisfaction Findings Across All Sectors       

  • 73.7% of franchisees said they would “do it all over again” knowing what they know today.
  • 78.6% of franchisees said they would recommend their franchise brand to others.
  • 82.2% of franchisees replied “Good”, “Very Good”, or “Excellent” in response to:
    “Overall, how would you rate your franchisor and the opportunity provided by this franchise system?”
  • 80.7% of franchisees replied “Good” “Very Good”, or “Excellent” in response to:
    “Overall, how would you rate your satisfaction with this franchise?”
  • 88.7% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
    “I enjoy operating this business”
  • 86.5% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
    “I enjoy being part of this organization”
  • 84.0% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
    “I respect my franchisor”
  • 81.0% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
    “I believe my franchisor acts with a high level of honesty and integrity”

 

Key Franchisee Satisfaction Findings Within the Food & Beverage Sector

  • 70.3% of franchisees said they would “do it all over again” knowing what they know today.
  • 73.7% of franchisees said they would recommend their franchise brand to others.
  • 75.7% of franchisees replied “Good”, “Very Good”, or “Excellent” in response to:
    “Overall, how would you rate your franchisor and the opportunity provided by this franchise system?”
  • 77.1% of franchisees replied “Good” “Very Good”, or “Excellent” in response to:
    “Overall, how would you rate your satisfaction with this franchise?”
  • 87.6% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
    “I enjoy operating this business”
  • 83.8% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
    “I enjoy being part of this organization”
  • 80.2% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
    “I respect my franchisor”
  • 76.3% of franchisees replied “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” in response to:
