Ashley Shaver Noland, Rhea Lana’s Franchisee

Ashley Shaver Noland is a mother who has been able to help the families in her community with her two Rhea Lana’s franchises in Arkansas.

What was it about the franchise model and or leadership that led you to purchase it?

I was immediately impressed by the ingenuity of the business model.  As a young mother, I recognized right away that this would be a business that young families and grandparents in my own community would love!  Our community quickly embraced this model of families helping other families. It has given me the opportunity to not only grow personally as an entrepreneur and leader in my community, but has also given me the flexibility and freedom to work from home.

What type of business experience, education, and/or skills did you have prior to becoming a franchisee that you have found particularly helpful?

I believe that the most important skills that lead to success as a Rhea Lana’s Children’s Consignment Event owner are strong relationship skills, a genuine desire to help others, a tenacious work ethic, and a creative marketing mind.

What things do you like most about your job?

I enjoy casting a vision and leading a team of people to accomplish this huge community event that helps thousands of families every year.  It is enormously gratifying to know that the work we are doing makes a difference in the lives of families. I have strangers stop me in restaurants and stores often to thank me for how much it has helped their family. Personally, it has also provided my family with financial freedom and opportunities I have never had before.

How did you fund your franchise? Did you receive any discounts/incentives?

I borrowed money from my Dad to fund my franchise.  Neither of us had any idea what the incredible return on that investment would be, but I will always be grateful to him for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.

What advice do you have for prospective franchise buyers? What do you wish you had known prior to going into franchising?

I truly believe that Rhea Lana’s is the absolute best business investment for a woman who would enjoy an opportunity to work from home, be an entrepreneur, think creatively, serve others, but still have the freedom to enjoy plenty of time with family.
