The typical day of a franchisee:

Morning -  Franchise and recruiters spend their morning marketing their services and introducing top candidates to leaders of potential clients. They invest time in training, making sure all hands are on deck and the whole team is focused on successful outcomes. They also collaborate with other offices on shared jobs and candidates. 

Afternoon - Afternoons are often spent finding, surfacing and reviewing job opportunities with top-performing candidates as well as introducing them to existing job opportunities. As owners and consultants fill jobs, their relationships with their clients often evolve into a trusted advisor role. Candidate references are interviewed. Each day ends with review, wrap-up and preparation for the next day and the building of a pipeline of opportunities.  

What are the costs, fees, and financing options?

The initial fee is $50k. There are no other fees. There are incentives and programs to help in funding this fee, e.g., it can be paid 50% up front and 50% year 2. There is an 8% royalty on fees received plus a .5% fee for a pooled advertising/PR fund, capped at $4,000 per year. Franchise agreements are ten years and renewable without charge. 

How much money can I make as an FPC franchisee?

FPC cannot make earnings claims legally, but it is reasonable to assume that most owners aim to make more than they did in corporate life, thus gaining the control of satisfaction and work-life balance. 

How long does it take to open an FPC franchise?

This can range, largely dependent on the franchisee leading from the front as a search consultant. Generally, it typically takes 1-2 months of preparation before the induction class. From there, it usually takes 3-6 months from launch to generate the first fee income: Fees average $32k each and overhead costs in a service business, like FPC, is much lower, relative to most other businesses. Franchisee effort can play an outsized role in the time it takes to break even and turn a profit. 

Also note, performance in any franchise cannot be predicted with absolute certainty and falls into making earning claims which the franchisor cannot make legally. But remember, over 90% of FPC owners have renewed their franchise agreements which goes a long way towards indicating franchise owner satisfaction. Many owners are in their 2nd or 3rd decade of ownership.
