The Maids dates back to 1979 when Daniel J. Bishop, an entrepreneurial success by age 21 with a commercial cleaning business, founded the company in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. From the start, The Maids focused on residential deep cleaning for time-starved, busy families. After growth of the company was impressive and undeniable, Daniel Bishop began franchising one year later, and business continued to boom.
The Maids became the first residential cleaning business to focus on cleaning for health. The Maids researched environmentally preferable cleaning products and sourced state-of-the-art equipment, based on commercial cleaning practices, to ensure the same cleaner, healthier environment was achievable in the home.
