Franchise Business Review’s President and COO, Michelle Rowan, met with Kona Ice Franchise Owners Wayne and Diana Reese to discuss their path to franchise ownership and the benefits of owning their Kona Ice franchise.
Wayne and Diana Reese own Kona of North Grand Prairie and Travelin Tom’s Coffee of Grapevine. “Our previous experience was in hospitality, specifically operations in hotels,” Diana said. “Wayne always knew he wanted to own his own business, and I was looking for advancement in my career. We found Kona Ice on a date! We did our research and, two months later, relocated to Dallas, where we now own five Kona Ice Trucks, a Kona Kiosk, and two Coffee Trucks. We are blessed and extremely grateful to be a part of a franchise that allows us to bless our community with smiles, support a growing staff, and are able to enjoy the memories we make with our family and 4-year-old daughter, Mikaela.”
Kona Ice has a simple business model. The brand works for you, not the other way around. Their goal is to make franchise owners’ Kona Ice experience as enjoyable and stress-free as eating a cup of shaved ice.
Kona Ice wants everyone in its family to feel welcomed and supported. If you’ve dreamed of starting your own business and are looking to find an established company that’s fun, innovative, and dedicated to you, then look no further. Over the last fifteen years, Kona Ice has received many awards—but they’re most proud of their Franchisee Satisfaction Award from FBR.
FBR surveyed actual Kona Ice franchise owners to find out how they felt about owning and operating their franchise businesses. Here’s what they had to say:
- 98% of franchisees “agree” or “strongly agree” they respect their franchisor.
- 99% of franchisees are likely to invest in Kona Ice again and recommend the franchise to others.
- 98% of franchisees enjoy being part of the organization and operating their business.
