Two Maids Franchisee Talks Quick Growth

Two Maids Franchisee

Shady Sabry moved to the U.S. from Egypt in 2024. After working for multi-national CPG companies and various tech startups, he was ready for something different. He now owns two Two Maids franchises in Ohio and employs 15 people. He opened his Montgomery location in 2024 and his West Chester location in early 2025. Here’s our Q&A with this successful Two Maids franchisee.

What made you decide to look into purchasing a franchise?

With all the challenges facing corporations, decision-making shifted from being strategic to short-term wins. In contrast, I prefer to make my own decisions and bear the consequences. I was ready to go out on my own.

When researching franchises, what criteria mattered to you most? How did your franchise meet that criteria?

My criteria were very specific: I wanted to offer a scalable service. Additionally, I looked for a transparent and supportive franchisor. Two Maids fit all of that.

Financing can be an obstacle and/or intimidating factor for aspiring entrepreneurs. How did you find financing options to purchase your franchise?

I partially used savings and then also a line of credit to help with cash flow.

Which of your prior skills and experiences do you use in operating your business today?

I use my skills in people management, my experience selling, and definitely my negotiation skills. I also lean on my obsession about systemizing processes.

During your research, what resources did you use to compare franchise opportunities?

I used my own judgment after carefully reading and discussing the FDD and getting in touch with several existing franchisees (new, experienced, single and multiple locations owners).

When doing your research, which questions did you ask the franchisees?

What support do you get from the franchisor? What do they do best and what do they lack? How is the P&L constructed, and what are the learnings to accelerate making profit?

Which questions did you ask the franchisor?

I discussed the pros and cons learned from franchisees’ calls. Additionally, I went over the details of the FDD, including the Two Maids‘ P&L.

What were your first 90 days like as a franchisee?

I was more on the learning side, trying to understand how business is done in a new country, applying the playbook to the dot, and getting support as much as possible from the franchisor. I was also focused on hiring and getting to know my team.

At what point did you feel like you “got the hang of it” and settled in as a business owner?

I don’t believe I will ever be there. The moment I get that feeling, I find new things to learn, challenging myself to take the business to the next level.

How does the franchisor support and encourage your success?

The team support that I get from Two Maids is crucial to my success. Their guidance drives me forward.

What are you most proud of and why?

I’m proud to be one of the fastest-growing Two Maids locations in the US.

What advice would you give to potential franchise owners?

I understand that you’re expecting support from your franchisor, which is fair. But remember, you own that business, and you have to keep fighting for its success.
