Randy and his wife Keri are the proud owners of a Utah-based CarePatrol franchise dedicated to helping seniors and their loved ones navigate the often overwhelming process of locating suitable living arrangements and an associated level of care. The freedom and flexibility franchising offers suit the couple well, allowing them to spend as much quality time with their children as possible and for Randy to indulge in one of his favorite activities as a mountain biking coach for the local community. Randy maintains multiple certifications related to his senior care referral specialist work, including his status as a certified senior advisor and certified placement and referral specialist. Randy also holds an MBA in business administration.

During your research, what made the CarePatrol franchise brand stand out?
The CarePatrol franchise team truly cares, and you can feel that. Plus I am inspired by understanding the needs of seniors and their families and providing the information and resources they need.
How did CarePatrol help you prepare for and launch your business?
CarePatrol helped us launch our location with all the training we needed. As someone without a healthcare or senior care background, I knew nothing about the industry. But, the CarePatrol franchise provided all the training and coaching necessary to help us succeed.
What advice would you give to potential CarePatrol franchisees?
You really have to care about other people to be in this business. The senior care industry is great! You can make great money while helping others. But caring about your clients and their families has to be within you.

What are the causes closest to your heart and why?
Professionally, the Alzheimer’s Association and The Round to Honor do amazing work to help seniors. Personally, I think the National Interscholastic Cycling Association is incredible at getting more kids on bikes.
How does business ownership empower you to give back or “pay it forward”?
I have been fortunate to be able to help sponsor a multitude of originations that benefit seniors. Business ownership also allows me the time to help coach the local kids’ mountain bike team.
