Jason Avila, Franchise Rock Star, ImageOne

Jason Avila was nominated by the ImageOne leadership team in the Top Performers category for a 2021 Franchise Rock Star Award. He was chosen by Franchise Business Review from among 200 nominations for his outstanding achievements as an ImageOne franchise owner in Elgin, IL.

What is one of the biggest mistakes you made when you were first starting your business? What was your biggest takeaway from it?

I think it was when I first hired employees out of nowhere just randomly and ended up having problems with their work and their honesty. That really got me to interview and ask about their previous job history before hiring.

Do you have a guiding philosophy or principle that has helped you navigate the ups and downs of owning a business and/or contributed to your success?

Yes I do. No matter how many bumps you get in the way, always continue to move forward and don’t look back. Instead, find ways to continue to be successful and find a solution to any problem! The sky’s the limit, so to me that only means that I have no limit to continue to be successful.

How have you raised the bar for your business and your franchise system?

Offering good quality cleaning. Spending lots of time and money on supervision. Building a relationship with my clients and treating my employees right.

What are the biggest work related challenges you faced during the pandemic? What have you done to address them?

Half of my business suspended services. At that point I went and offered other services to my active accounts, like daytime porters strictly to disinfect, and also offering our electrostatic disinfecting services.
