Andrew Ritterling is the proud franchisee of The Entrepreneur’s Source in Kansas City, Missouri, operating since 2021. With one dedicated employee, Andrew transitioned from a turbulent corporate career to become a Career Ownership Coach. This allowed him to gain control over his life and ultimately achieve career freedom. Originally from Colorado, Andrew balances business ownership with homeschooling his three children (and one on the way) while deeply engaging with his community and church. His story is one of resilience, faith, and purposeful entrepreneurship focused on creating value for others and building a flexible, family-first lifestyle.
What made you decide to look into purchasing a franchise?
After experiencing multiple layoffs and realizing the lack of security in the corporate world, I knew I needed a change. I wanted to gain more career freedom, create a stable income, and spend more time with my family. Franchising with The Entrepreneur’s Source provided the perfect solution. It allowed me to transition out of the corporate environment while offering the support of a proven business model. I also have the flexibility to work from home, pursue my passions, and provide for my family in a way that aligns with our values and long-term goals.
How does the franchisor support and encourage your success?
The Entrepreneur’s Source provides exceptional support and encouragement for my success through a combination of culture, training, and ongoing coaching. From the very beginning, they provided comprehensive training to ensure I had the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve career freedom. The franchise network is incredibly supportive, offering a strong community of fellow coaches who share best practices and insights. Additionally, the franchisor’s marketing resources and strategies have been invaluable in helping me grow my business. Their continued coaching and consistent check-ins with my very own coach have helped me stay on track with my goals. They provide both guidance and motivation along the way.
What are you most proud of and why?
I’m most proud of the fact that I can use the career freedom and income I have received to pour into others. I am not only able to invest more time with my bride and children as an active father and husband, but I am also able to give more of my time and money to my church and invest in God’s Kingdom. My business is all about adding value to others and helping them explore new things they might not have explored on their own. I use my testimony as an example of what could be possible with the right opportunity and an open mind.
What advice would you give to new or potential franchise buyers?
Explore a few different business models. Also, do your due diligence to ensure it’s the right vehicle for you to achieve your goals. It’s less about the product or service and more about how the business can be used as a vehicle to achieve your goals. Also, acknowledge the fact that you will never be 100% certain of a model. However, if you are highly confident and feel that it is the right option, with clarity, DO NOT LOOK BACK. Don’t waste time and energy looking over your shoulder, asking, “Did I do the right thing?” Use that nervous energy as fuel to ensure what you chose is successful, no matter what.
